If you've decided to finally jump into the Internet game with an eye towards grabbing a little cash from it, you need the answer to a simple question: How does affiliate marketing work? It can be answered easily enough, though the execution of an affiliate marketing plan is equal parts art and science. For starters, affiliate marketing is all Internet-based. In it, a business (and it can be for just about anything) rewards an affiliate - you, in this instance - for getting the business a visitor or customer. This visitor or customer is brought to the business through the affiliate's marketing efforts.

Rewards in affiliate marketing, in the form of commissions when a sale of merchandise is actually made, can be lucrative. Just the act of shepherding a visitor to the business, regardless of whether or not a sale is made, can sometimes result in a small "click through" payment, though in actual affiliate marketing this can be rare.

The idea is to attract visitors who have read the articles to go to the site with the aim of getting them to eventually go over to the merchandiser site, where they'll hopefully purchase those golf performance improvement clubs.

The best affiliate marketers use many different techniques for generating traffic to their sites and then moving that traffic onward.
